Discover the Baška Valley, an ideal destination for active holidays all-year-round, by exploring its famous sites and landmarks that bear witness to its history and traditions. The surrounding landscape will make your stay on the island a truly memorable one.

The trail will take you from the centre of Baška to the Zarok sandstone, where it turns upstream along the bed of Suha Ričina (also known as Vela Rika), the only perennial stream on the Adriatic islands. Thanks to Vela Rika, the Baška Valley once echoed with the sound of water mills, where locals ground wheat and made cloth. You will be cycling along the stone sculptures of the Glagolitic alphabet, one of the town symbols, and numerous flocks of sheep grazing on green pastures. The Goričica hill above the trail offers a stunning view of the fertile Baška Valley. There you will also find the oldest Marian shrine of Our Lady of Gorica. Upon reaching Draga Bašćanska, a right turn will take you to the main road to Baška. Make sure to visit the abbey complex of St Lucy in Jurandvor with a replica of the Baška Tablet, a precious piece of the Croatian cultural heritage.

The trail has been designed for beginners and recreational cyclists who prefer active holidays, and taking a swim on one of the nearby beaches will round up your day in the best possible way. Also, treat your palate to the famous Baška lamb to see why it is the main star of the famous Krk event.
