This traffic-free cycling route offers a safe ride amidst the island’s beautiful nature
It is an easy cycling path suitable for families with kids.
It starts in Punat, one of the most prominent nautical tourism locations on the Croatian coast, and ends in Malinska. It is traffic-free and offers a safe and enjoyable ride along pastures and numerous olive groves that surround Punat, widely known for its premium olive oil, one of the golden drops of the Krk island. Make sure to visit the Stari Toš Gallery and Interpretation Centre, once an olive mill where oil was made manually, and today a place where you can learn about the history of growing, harvesting and processing olives in Punat. Also worth visiting is the Franciscan monastery on the islet of Košljun, with many valuable items of the Croatian cultural heritage.
The path runs along the coast to the Church of St Donatus, a valuable example of the pre-Romanesque Croatian architecture. The path, running along vineyards and olive groves, climbs from the sheltered Punat Cove to the island’s interior, where you can explore Krk’s rich cultural and historical heritage. You can take off the cycling path to follow a branch running through the Vrbnik vineyards to the town of Krk and its Šotovento area.
