Through a unique area of Adriatic flora and fauna
This trail provides a glimpse into the everyday life of the rural part of Krk Island.
It starts in the picturesque fishing village of Porat, located in a sheltered harbor. At the beginning of the tour, its is recommended to visit the Franciscan Monastery of St. Magdalene from 1480, home to Glagolitic Franciscans. The trail leads through the shade of dense oak forests and winds among dry-stone walls enclosing lush olive groves. It continues to Čavlena Bay, ideal place for a short break with a view of Kvarner Bay.
The return journey to Porat passes through various villages, with fenced pastures where flocks of sheep graze peacefully.
